I’ve seen the new version 1.13.0.1 is out.
Reading the changelog I found “Added a feature to maintain a resolution information of jpg file”. That was one of the feature I was waiting for (even if limited to jpeg only). Unfortunately it seems it don’t work. I made some test: – with PNG files, the saved value is the usual 96 dpi, don’t mind the value I set in StylePix, both looking at property panel in Windows XP and opening the image with irfanview. . – with jpeg files, instead, the value appears “empty” in irfanview, and 96 dpi in the Windows properties. . I hope the StylePix will be able to save dpi value for all the main image formats that supports this feature.
The problem of the icons (with XP Sp3 and the portable version, at least), seems to be unsolved yet, you can see it in the attached image “Icons problem.png”. The image appear moving the mouse over the gray rectangle, and vanish when you move it out.
About the portable version, I still hope there is a trick to store user data in the program folder instead than in the %APPDATA% folder, even if I don’t place StylePix in a removable device. It is an eavy limitation for me, in my computer I’ve very few installed software, the great part are portable software placed in the system partition.
Another problem concern with StylePix process. Opening the task manager of Windows XP SP3 and Athlon64 x2 4400+, I often found many instances of the StylePix process that has not been closed when I close the main window. So I’ve to manually terminate these processes. Could you investigate about this problem?
At the end, here is a slightly improved version of the Italian translation, you can find it as attachment.
